Team Strong Athlete’s Ashton Nemdhari represented in a big way at the Ohio Fighting Championships on October 19th. Fighting in the 185 lb. division, Ashton fought against American Jacob Miller. In the first round Ashton executed his game plan perfectly, pushing Miller up against the cage and eventually securing a takedown. Miller was no match for the formidable jiu jitsu skills of Ashton and nearly got caught with a kimura at the end of the round.
In the second round Ashton showcased more of his skills, securing another takedown and flattening Miller out on the ground. Ashton proceeded to launch a barrage of punches on the ground and nearly finished Miller if not for the sound of the closing bell. The third round saw more domination from Ashton, who used his conditioning and aggression to pressure Miller and score yet another takedown. This was the beginning of the end for Miller, who was eventually flattened out and submitted by a rear naked choke. The win was a testament to Ashton’s hard work, discipline and dedication throughout his preparation. Ashton credits his superior strength and conditioning to the training he has been doing with Team Strong Athlete. We’re extremely proud of this rising mixed martial artist and look forward to seeing him in the cage again soon.
